That's not a bad price. There are some places that will get lower. I was quoted $500 at the place I'm going to down the road, however there are a lot of places that cost a lot more as well.

It cost me 550 total with parts and labor. That is not far off. Gears are the best mod you can do to a mustang besides going F/I. It may not add horse power, but it sure makes it feel like it.

That's not parts as well though. Add parts and you're probably around that same $500 that I got quoted.

Edit: That's FRPP though, less with other gears like Motive.

[:-]Damn...i payed 200 to have my entire rear end rebuilt. New axles, 4.10 gears, new limited slip. And he even fixed my floaters on the calipers. They'd been sticking, he heated them up, unsiezed them, and filled them with anti sieze. I guess i got lucky. For point of reference, he did my clutch (which included throwout bearing, clutch, pressure plate, and turning down the flywheel) for 190. And its beautiful work too, not like the price reflects quality. Not all janky redneck mechanics are actually janky redneck mechanics
