Default Slow rev recover?

Maybe I just didnt notice this before the rebuild, but my engine recovers slowly from a rev.
What i mean is, when the engine is up around 3 or 4 grand, and throttle is released (not in gear),
it is slow to drop down to idle.. takes about a second per 1000 rpms. (4000rpm = 4 seconds to return to idle)
I dont have any other stang owners around to compare to so I thought I would just ask here.
Is this normal for these engines?

I asked this very question yesterday,,no replies....Mine does this,,,but only started after the S/C went on...I'll buy an IAC today....from ford....try that first...I was wondering if the S/C would have caused this.Normally ,,its just an IAC thats slow to retract....(old and slow like me...)

I have the same problem. I've asked before and I got a reply. The IAC systems. (Idle Air Conterol)

-The idle air control system is used to stablize idle speed during cold enginge and after warm-up.-

There is alot on this... http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/h60.pdfThis should explain everything.

I had the same problem too, it is a mustang thing. It's from the pumping of air back through the egr valve. You can buy a gasket that limits the air and it helps a little. They are on ebay I have one and I could notice, but it still does it. Just do a search on ebay for it. Mine was like 6 dollars. i actually have a spare one if nebody wants it let pm me.
