Default Is nitrous safe?

Pretty flammable stuff. If used correctly, what are the chances something happens and it blows itself or the engine. Just curious?

I am seeing anywhere from 75-150 hp gains depending on boost. How long does the boost last when you hit it? A few seconds? Can you control how long it boosts?

Nitrous is not flammable. It wont burn, but what it does do is unload its oxygen allowing for a better more efficient burn. It is safe when used appropriately.

Just for the record NITROUS IS NOT FLAMMABLE! Dude not to be a dick but do a search. It doesnt work in spurts, it works off a switch it is either on or off.100 shot will be fine w/o any problems.

There is a lot of reading material about this on this site. Search for nitrous and you will find tons.

Well, technically its not boost. A shot will last as long as you want it too theoretically. It will last until you get to the rpm that the window switch shuts the N2O off at. Shift and repeat.

N2O is not like F&F. There is not button to press that sends a "shot."

Nitrous oxide is very safe... the containers that it is in are labeled as a NON-FLAMMABLE GAS. If you had an open flame and sprayed nitrous oxide over it, it would put out the flame.

You can get as much power out of nitrous as you like. You can get 25 horsepower, or you can get 250 horsepower, it just depends on how much of the stuff you spray in.

You spray the nitrous for as long as you want. If you really wanted, you could start spraying it and just hold it till the bottle emptied out. Think of it as just holding a button down, while you've got the button held, it will be spraying nitrous and giving you the extra boost, as soon as you let go of the button, the extra power is gone.

I couldn't make a very accurate guess at how long a 10lb bottle will last... If I had to take a stab in the dark... With a 75 shot, a 10lb bottle would last for 90-100 seconds of spray time, probably longer.

A common set up is that You have wide open throttle switch(wot) which sprays at wide open throttle. And there is also a window switch which sprays between certain rpm limits. So your car wont spray if the nitrous is not armed, if the rpm is not correct, and if you are not flooring it.
