stalling problem-need help
Got in my '99 GT this morning, started it up, and...it stalled. Again and again. If I keep my foot on the gas and really keep the fuel going, it runs fine, but as soon as I take my foot off the pedal, it just runs out of gas.
Could this be a fuel filter issue? Is this something I can fix myself?
And is it possible to drive it to a garage, or does it need to be towed?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

RE: stalling problem-need help
IAC is probably gone bad, you can replace it yourself or have a garage do it. Driving? well if you forget and lift off the gas it will stall and then you will lose all your power. Probably not a safe idea. Tow it if you decide to have the garage change it to be safe.

Thanks for the info. I don't want to sound ignorant, but I haven't really worked on a car in over 5 years, and back then it was rebuilding older Chevy motors (I'm a Ford girl now) so I don't know what an IAC is.

Did a search and found idle air control valve. So, that doesn't sound so hard. I'll try to replace that first. Of courese I don't have a clue where it is or how to replace...nothing like a good adventure.

has a picture of what it looks like.
It will be on the throttle body.
It may also be the TPS, but you usually have the rpms jumping if it were that.
Not hard to do, might also want to check for vaccum leaks too.
