the gears limiting the speed would be obvious...i doupt thats it. I have never heard of speed limiter on a stang either but if you have one you would need a tuner to deal with it.

 

i was just wondering. because i know that some cars wont let you go higher then 100, etc. and you know they still have more left in them

 

some of the el cheapo version stangs up until 01 (16" rims and 3.08 gears) have speed limiters around there

 

My 99 gt has,,,,hadfactory 16 inch wheels instead of the 17 inchers...and the limiter was there @ 120to 125.....its all gone now though.....

 

its called a governer and your car should not have come with one. you can take it off, just go to the dealer ship, you should not need a tunner. most rental cars have governer, so i dont think your car has one on it.

 

I hit 150 prettty easily. LOL =D
