Go to Carbonware.com. They have nice fiberglass hoods. Fiberglass is a hell-of-a lot easier to work with if it doesn't fit properly.I bought my carbon fiber hood from VIS but it was nowhere near oem fitment, like they claimed. Required a little work to fit exact.
i see the pin/off hoods are alot cheaper are they worth buying?
For race cars.

Yea that wouldn't be very practical. Especially if you got it painted. You would have to find a nice cushiony, non-abrasive spot to lay it on whenever you wanted to take a look under your hood.

having a vert would work out just perfect then huh? haha. we have a 69 super bee that has a lift off.. takes 2 people to lift the hood and set it on the roof.. nice thing the car is a vinal top so it doesnt mess up anything.

pretty much. i went through 2 that were messed up and finally got a good one. never got it painted because my friend got his painted at a descent paint place and it took alot of prep work and cost alot of money to paint and i dont feel like dishing out that kind of money for a hood. so ill just get it painted later.

You could always prep it yourself. You can access info online on how to do it. All you really need is water, a bucket, maybe some Bondo and sand paper (grit depends on the surface quality).

That is also partly the reason why I chose to go with carbon fiber.
