Default 99 GT Conked Out

Hey,
I have a stock 99 GT, that didn't want to crank this morning. It is a dry, sunny day car so it has been a bit since I have had it out. It cranked great about a week ago when I shuffled the cars around the garage, but this morning, coughed and shook a few times and cut out. The smell of exhaust was all around.
The starter works, but the engine does not make a peep. I believe my mistake was just moving the car that day without letting it warm up. It was cranked all of 5 seconds.
I guess the question lies in how bad can it be and will it hurt it anymore if it was a little bit before I got it to the shop? Also, should I try to crank it again when I get home tonight and maybe blow out whatever crud there may be, or will that do more harm than good at this point?

My car and I thank you for the help!

Andy

Its turning over, just not starting? Or is is not doing anything at all now? Have enough gas like brute asked? Any leaks under the car (gasoline)?

jump start your car. my car did the same thing. the battery has just enough juice to crank the starter a little bit but not enough to get the engine to go.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I always keep a full tank in the car since I don't drive her as much. When I turn the key, all lights come on, the starter whirrls, but absolutly no attempt to turn over. No noise or even a shake. The battery is new within the past year I believe.

sounds like it might be battery or out of gas, jump it and see if it starts then see how it runs and go from there.
