Default Cowl Hoods

I'm looking at a 1998 GT Mustang, it has a Cowl Hood. What can you guys tell me about the hood. I'm not really sold on it yet, because of the hood, i don't really like the look of the hood. So if i did buy i may just replace the hood. Unless you guys can tell me if it would be better to keep the hood, like if it creates any kind of performance boost?

Can you get a pic of the hood?

Is it aftermarket? Is it the only exterior mod on the car?

here are some pics of the hood. I assume by the look of the hood, that it allows alot of the hotter air to be pulled away from the engine? But really i dont know. Anything you guys can say will be helpful.

That guy spent alot of money putting that cowl hood and cobra bumper on there... I think it looks nice.
But to answer your quistion, in no way does it help performance... (but it may be lighter then the factory hood)
