why would your car being a daily driver stop you from gears. if you do a lot of highway just go with the 3.73 or 3.90. although i would go with the 4.10. i have them and my car is a daily driver

Hey Mr. SVTBill, don't rule out gears just like that... I have 3.73 gears (and have done that move twice) and use my car for daily driving. I have done many trips across country without much suffering in the MPG dept. They say that 3.73s are better in town as long as you don't stomp on it at every start like I do . I would say that you can go 3.55 or 3.73s while still staying conservative and getting a noticable increase in seat of the pants feel... But, if that is still not your ticket.... Then the next best mod is lowering springs. As long as you don't drop it more than 1.5 inches you are going to only notice impovements and won't have any of the side effects that come with going closer to the ground. Another nice move is to get some good aftermarket lower rear control arms with poly bushings. They will get you some extra bite. Then there is always (what I would consider one of the best one step steps in the right mod direction) getting some high quality tires. They will improve your acceleration and stopping distance. Can't forget that wheels are thegreatest most impact factor when it comesto the looks of your car... I think that after these moves, you have at your option justsome really expensive (supercharger) mods and nice little-gain/supporting mods (like sub-frame connectors).... An honorable mention goes out to exhaust modding.I like what I havedone, going withFlowmasters, as far as tone goes...but there really isn't much gain besides a nice grargle and grunt. Again I will say that I like my modded exhaust with the high flow cats and the Flowmaster cat-back...and can't imagine having a Mustang without something like that...

im about to get some used weld in 40s for 60 bucks so taht will hold me off for now...when the car becomes a drag car in mid summer i will put 4.10s in it...im just going to do all performance mods untill then getting it ready for the drag slowly...it's an auto too, so, they say 4.10s are like 3.73s in a standard...for now i just want to feel a difference

why not 3.90's for your auto, might be "like" the 3.73's for manual cars

Ummm...

Your going to start running drag radials but you won't get gears because its a daily driver? I can gaurentee you that a set of 3.73s (or even 4.10s) is going to increase your overall cost LESS than the added cost of running drag radials. You do know even the nittos wear out about every 10K (if your lucky, and they are bald at that point) right?

Lets assume you pay the same for your drag radials as your regular tires, at about 160 bucks a pop.

Over 10K miles you will have to change them out three times, to the single time (30k~) you should get on a regular tire. Thats an additional 640 dollars in cost...

Lets say your GT gets 25 MPG on the highway right now. Even a change of 2 MPH (thats alot) is only a difference of 200 bucks with gas at 2 bucks a gallon...

You would have to loose OVER five MPH to increase your cost in fuel over the added cost of running a d/r at 30,000 miles, and that simply isn't gonna happen.
