It keeps the oil off of the crankshaft ,therefore it has less rsistance to turn it easier.
Man 5000 posts and you dont know what a windage tray is. J/K man.

I am nut sure about the tranny maybe I will find out down the road if I blow it I would say t-56 here i come. also a windage tray also keeps the wind down generated my the rotating assembly.

then after getting the motor apart I found out the my pistions pins were worn and I could wable the pistion around. so Then afterall that I painted the block ford blue turned out pretty great I throught the front cover and heads on to get a better picture.
