I have an Auto...So how do I launch
The best way to launch with an auto is to powerbrake it.
Basically you hold your left foot on the brake while pressing the gas with your right foot. Rev the engine until the tires break loose and start to spin. When the tires start to spin, lower the rpm's just low enough that the tires arent spinning. This is whereyou want to launch every time, asthis will help get your car closer to its peak hp/tq rpm's.
When you let off the brake you have to give an equal amount of gas to keep from somewhat bogging the engine. Dont just stomp the pedal or you will most likely just smoke the tires.
Its takes a little practice, but with a few good launchesyou'll have it down.

Hi my name is chris from ny, im new to this forum but had the same problem as you. like greg said you will hold the brake and rev up the engine to about 2500 rpm or untill you notice that the tires want to start to spin then you release. Also the best way to take advantage of your automatic is to use the old shift pattern (L)(2)(3)(D)(OD).Learn your cars peak point to shift each time.Try that and you should be good, but take it easy if you dont have a coolant for your tranny,it tends to get alittle bit hot.
