Ohh man, that doesn't sound good at all. I don't think it's your synchros, but who knows.

I'm not a tranny expert so I'm not sure what to tell you. [&:]

Sorry buddy, sounds like you are about to invest in a new motor. That sure sounds like some nasty knocking...

Yeah I don't even think it has anything to do with the tranny anymore because I can get that sound from reving it under the hood but it is only consistant like that when I drive it 2500rpm and up! And all the good shops I know around here that I know of can't figure it out! I kinda wish it were tranny related because that would be cheaper than a engine! I wonder if I take it over to Modular Power House, will the tell me what it is.

I wouldn't even bother spending any time or money diagnosing it. It's gonna blow sooner or later. That's a typical knock...

Well I can tell you what its not.. its not your trannie... I would start by changing the oil.. and check for metal shavings. You will probably see some.. after that I would start looking for a new motor.. go get some 50W and put in there, it might quit it down a little and give you another month or two

Hey dan I usually see non-pi engines go for 6-700 dollors would it be worth buying one and using my pi heads(if not damaged) and intake and buy new cams, etc, to have a pi swapped engine?

I'd figure with a knock like that, whatever bank the knock is on that head probably won't look very good .
