Default Could this happen???

My pony is at the shop cuz it just wont start. It cranks but doesnt fire up. So, everyone is thinking that my fuel pump needs to be replaced. However, before my pony died on me I was having a mifire problem with one of my cylinders. So, I changed the plugs and the coil pack for that cylinder. It ran nice amd smooth for like 2 miles and then started to misfire again. When it misifres it runs like a$$ and idles real rough and it was spitting out unburned fuel out ofone of my tailpipes' plus my gas milage wwas horrible. Shortly therafter the pony just died on me and never started again.

Could it be possible that I fix the starting problem, and the misfire is still a problem, or would fixing whatever is causing the car not too start fix everything?? My mechanic is saying that there is a wire harness and one of the wires that leads to my fuel pump is grounding out so my fuel pump is not working.Does thissound about right?? I just want my pony to come out of the shop running beautiful, I dont want two problems on my hands.

Thanks guys
