Default H&R super sport spring set

I have a 2002 gt and I wanted to lower it more than 1" butnot more than 2", so I'm thinking of getting the H&R super sport set. I wanted to know if I get that spring set do I also have to get performance shocks and struts. One more thing, would I be able to this job myself and save some money or should I take it in to a garageand get jacked.

I have a jack and jack stands, have tools but no air tools

Thank you for your input.

You should yes and you'll also need Caster/Camber plates since the SS's drop more than 1.5"

Yes you can do the job yourself if you have the right tools and take your time and having an extra friend around to help works out nicely to....http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/spring1.htm

thats roughly $1000 bucks to lower a car 2 inches? i think id rather save for a supercharger? is there any springs you can get to where you dont need all that other stuff? can you cut the stockers?

I have the super sports on my 04 GT vert. I did not replace the shocks and struts. I still plan to when I get some extra cash but I have had it like this for 4 or 5 months now and no problems. You do need cc plates and alignment though.

so i can get by without new shocks/struts? i dont mind the springs and the cc plates....thats would bring it down to about half of what everything would cost.

you can get away with buying your s/s later. i figured everythingshould be done the first time around while everything was apart. the eibach prokit you can away with just the springs, but i've heard too many complaints. your choice, not much of a drop there to notice. stangsupension has a set of tokico hd s/s for about$300 or you can always go with a set of fox s/s, those are cheap and there are cheapercc plates out there also.if you do the laboryou can get away with well under $700 to have it done right.
