I know there are two kinds of gears that you want to get. There are the FRPP and some other brand, I can't remember the name. Me personally, when I get gears they will be from Ford Racing. That is the safest way to go from what I herar. MAKE SURE you are positive that motive gears are good before you buy them. Do a serch on this site and see the other posts on the subject. That will be a costly mistake if you buy the wrong ones

its 100 rpm differance and a loss of about 4 mph top speed, my buddies 99 we were able to well bury the speedo with 4.10s and a t45, and we were NOT able to do that with the stockers

100rpm's over what kinda gear ratio? 3:73 to 4:10's at 150mph is almost 700rpm difference!

Get the 4.10's.. I've got 3.73's and if I were to do it all over again, I would have 4.30's in there.

I got 3.90's in my 01. i go down the highway at like 3000 at 80, mayby just under 3. there is very little 1st gear, so you will be shifting into 2nd before you clear the intersection. I like them though, i felt the same way bout the 3.73 and 4.10, wanted something in between them.

I have the Motive 3.90s. They are just fine. They have no whine at all. (As someone else pointed out, whine is more related to the quality of the install then the brand.)
I turn about 2500 rpm in 5th gear at just under 80 mph.
I wouldn't want any more gear -- as it is 1st gear is really only good for racing launches, in normal driving I tend to start out in 2nd.

I can't disagree with people who say buy the FRPP gears -- they probably are the best quality, but I've had no problems with my Motives and it's been 2 years and 10,000 miles since they were put in.
