im doing the same thing on m beat 98. PI with a dry 75 shot once a week or so. I think as long as you hook the kit up correctly and dont run more than 100 shot you should be fine. with PI heads and nitrous i'd think your compression would go to 11:1, so get good head gaskets
I hope the Ford Head change kit will be good enough because that's all I'm gonna do!

haha, me too. just be carefull and make sure it does NOT backfire. I have to say, the 4.6 is a pretty strong motor compared to an older chevy small blocks in cars. All 4.6 motors in the mustangs are 4 bolt mains. They were basicly designed for the truck line so they can take a beating.

This is the nitrous system that I want to put in my 02 GT. I currently have patriot stage II heads and a set of comp cams already installed. And all the lovely bolt-ons like pulleys, K&N filter, TB, Full exhaust and so on. So now I’m wondering will my block be able to handle this added HP, is WET style the way to go with Nitrous, any suggestion on this would be appreciated.
That will be perfect for you. I agree, 75-maybe 100 hp is all ur gonna be able to do. That NX kit is TOP NOTCH quality. all you need is a window switch, and a Fuel pressure safety switch, and a purge if you want.

I'm doing a PI swap over the next few weeks and I want to run a 75 shot for that once a week race! I'm getting a custom tune with an SCT xcal and a dyno. With that, will the higher compression of the 96-98 blocks make me burn a hole in my piston without a tune on a Zex kit?
Nah, you are only going to burn a piston if you A/F ratio gets out of check. PI swapping it just raises the compression, which isn't a problem for nitrous... Just be very vigilant for pinging the first few times you spray and put the highest octane in possible. If there's only one place that sells 93 while the rest sell 92, go get the 93.

A 75 shot is so minor that unless your A/F ratio is off, you'll never have a problem with it, Zex doesn't even recommend moving your timing back for the 75 shot. The times I sprayed the 75 on the stock plugs, they always came out just fine after I'd check 'em. (granted, I don't spray much). Now, I'm not saying you won't notice the power from the 75 shot 04 GT + 75 shot> 04 GT wth full bolt ons+ 4.10s >07 GT And I've done the races to prove it.

For the backfiring thing, you just need to be careful. When I spray, if I shut the car down within the next 5 minutes afterwards, I leave it off for at least 10 to let the fuel vapor in the intake manifold dissipate. Don't do anything where you may cause a backfire with it and it will be just fine. I'm still using my plastic intake manifold without issues, never had a backfire.

The nuts and bolts of the 4.6 bottom end are strong... For N/A applications, the stuff in there is awesome (hypereutectic), as metal formed in that manner is VERY hard, but also very brittle making it weak to detonation. It will hold up to a 75 shot, even 125 PI swapped, but as soon as you get pinging is where the problems begin. Long story short: WATCH FOR PINGING! When you're spraying you should be doing nothing but listening, at least for the first half a bottle. If it pings, get off the throttle.

Lastly, purge is just for show. I don't have a purge, when the lines are just full of air and I start spraying, it's only about half a second from the time I start spraying till the nitrous hits. Any time after that and the hit is instant. Plus, the 07 GT I raced told me that he could hear me spraying the nitrous through the race from his car with the window down

With a wet kit you'll be fine. Spray a 75 wet and you shouldn't ever have to worry about it.

If you find yourself concerned, pay the $30 or whatever your local dyno shop charges for a dyno pull with a wideband O2 and check the A/F ratio, if it's good, or rich, you should never run into a problem.
