Does anyone know what or where the ECT sensor is? Thanks.

 

Standing in front of the car veiwing motor,,right of alternator,screwed into the front of the intake....next to the number 1 fuel injector or close to it....

 

Well I either have a bad t-stat or a bad ECT sensor. What does it do and is it easy to replace?

 

Engine coolant temp sensor,,tells the ecm how cold or hot theEngine is..therefore adjusting fuel and spark control,along with idle...and on several it even uses this info to turn the Rad Fan on and off...

 

ECT ,,yes,,screwsout and screws back in...

 

Thanks for the info. Where is your coolant temp guage at operating temp. Mine only read about a 1/8 to 1/4 of the way up the guage. I think its the t-stat. Has antone else had this problem. I am thinking of replaceing it with a 180.
