Looking for THOROUGH Midpipe Install

Looking for THOROUGH Midpipe Install
If anyone has any spare time, just seeing if anyone could give me (and the rest of the mechanical newbs) a detailed Midpipe install walk-through. Maybe someone could point out where things are like 02 sensors etc... for the different steps of the process. I don't know much about any of that. (Yes I know where mufflers and cats are). We could post it in the "How To" in the Tech sticky. This is a normal length midpipe install, not a shorty.

I always thought a shorty was for long tube headers. Its a shorter pipe to compensate for long tubes. Thats besides my question though. If anyone has anytime or has any information on a nice detailed midpipe install, please post! Thank you.

Once you get under the car, you'll see what needs to be done.. It's 4 bolts, remove 2 o2 sensors, and then install your new one.. Very simple, just takes time...

+1... It's very easy. All you need is a long extension and some patience. Be careful not to round off bolts or else you're looking at buying some new manifolds to complement the new mid pipe. The install is very easy and is just 8 bolts in total. I can do one at work on a lift in less than 10 minutes.

Damn. That sounds crappy... I guess I should've told you to have the car warm. I had it running for 20 minutes before I hit the bolts. I was doing a cat back exhaust at the same timeso I just dropped everything. And oh yes, it was hot as hell. I had to use Kevlar arm pads while doing it. [8D]

Last time I checked shorty was a normal length midpipe.

I just bought an O/R X and haven't changed one before. The guy I bought the X from said to completely disconnect the O2 sensors...not only from the pipe, but from the other end as well. Is this needed? I don't see how it would hurt to just disconnect the sensors from the pipe and let them hang...

Nope, he is right [:-] Shorty midpipes go with LT headers.
