****ty looking or not(I like them) They are fast, and with full exhaust, they will outrun any bolt-on GT you can think of.

Hell, I'm tempted to say it would outrun any N/A 2v.
a full exhaust ls1 will dyno hp wise around where a full bolt on 100 shot mustang will. i put 345 down with my mustang. it wouldnt be too hard for an ls1 with LTs, true dual or cattless y and a lid to put that down. torque is another story tho.
265 to the flywheel with a 100 shot would be 365. Lets say a full bolt-ons to a 99-04 mustang would add 70 horsepower at minimum that would be 170 with the 100 shot. 170+265=435hp to the flywheel. LS1 is 325 stock to flywheel + 25hp for long tubes + 5hp + 20 for exhaust at most = 375hp...

So LS1 375 to the full bolt-on mustang's 435 + the mustang being a lighter car... = Mustang wins.
Rofl.

70 horsepower (wheel or flywheel) from boltons on a 2V GT? What have you been smoking?

Very best case senario, a full boltons GT will make 270 WHP (on a "happy" dynojet) which translates to about 310 WHP. Your talking a 50 flywheel horsepower increase AT BEST. The avearge bolton GT will dyno around 260-265 WHP on an accurate dynojet.

You might see 100 WHP from a 100 shot... so maybe 370 WHP with a 100 shot + boltons.

Your friend and his LS1 should have simply eaten you alive. A full exhaust + lid LS1 could easily put down 350+ WHP. You MIGHT put down 250 WHP with your current mods (maybe).

He should have simply walked away from you. Even a auto/vert with the 2.73 rear gear should eat you alive.

For refernce, with full boltons + cams my car put down 280 WHP on a dynojet. My buddies bone stock (k&n filter and weld in mufflers) auto/2.73 geared/coupe with t tops (basically the slowest coupe possible) was still door to door with me unless I hit every shift point just right. From a roll I would only put maybe a car and a half or two on him to the top of 4th gear.

I think your friend just screwed up. Try racing him from a roll (to take out some of the driver error) and I think you will be pretty displeased with the results.

The ls1 should of raped him, obviously the guy was toying with him or didn't know how to drive. I agree a full bolt ongt would not keep up with an ls1 with those mods.

I figured my mustang on the juice was around 420 bhp, from the 345 rwhp figuring around 18% loss. this is give or take aaround 15 here, so a shade over 400 cant be too far off. the torque was 435, so im figuring in the neighborhoood of 500. 70 hp is a little high for a bolt on GT. they dyno around 230 stock and around 260 with boltons. 30 rwhp difference, and through the percent ratio loss dealy maybe 50 crank..... maybe.
for the sake of not looking like a bunch of honda drivers, lets not swap back and forth between the wheels and crank.
Fact: a full bolton GT is somewhere in the neighborhood of 260-270 rwhp (this being the norm, dyno differences can account for higher readings)
Fact: LS1 cars dyno at about 300 rwhp stock
conclusion: a bolt on GT will not outrun a properly driven ls1
Fact: my GT with a zex 100 shot put down 345 (80 rwhp, and roughly 100 bhp).
Fact: an ls1 with full exhaust and lid can put that down no problem, especially with the ls6 intake and possibly a tune
conclusion: this one is up for grabs as the nitrous adds gobs of torque to the GT. might go like any other GT ls1 race where the GT may pull out early but the longer it goes the more of a chance the ls1 has to pull out. just make sure ur racin towards some traps on this one

I don't know about you but the juice is cheating, it just feels wrong this is what you really need... if you want it close.

The juice is cheating? But spending 10 grand and swapping out your stock engine for one that wasnt even put in your car isnt? That would be bad *** to have either of those in a new edge, but it would be a clusterf*ck and a wiring nightmare.

I am just saying. I would prefer to win without the nitrous. I don't like it. I am all about the raw engine power. And if I was determined to beat the catfish I would do it without nitrous.

Its all in the launch.. Ive seen many LS1 camaro's, TA's, Vettes, etc run low 14/high 13 run after run after run.. Ive seen bolt on new edge's win at the track. Its all in the launch and how they shift.. if you beat them on the launch, they'll be flying back in it... just depends on what MPH you shut down at.

I can easily believe you only lost by a car or so if he isnt that great of a driver.. I could believe you outright winning if he was a terrible driver and you shut down @ 100 or before. LS1's arent invincible.. people on here like to talk like they cant loose... but spend some time at a track and you'll see plenty of higher end much faster cars pulling stupid times due to driver error... and not just once or twice, but on all 5 of the runs they manage to get in because they THINK they know what they are doing.
/speaking from experience
//dropped a full second off my friends vette when he let me drive it last time he went to the track with us... some people cant comprehend clutch in, pedal in, clutch out isnt a way to launch...
