Damn there goes all I had in mind, well thanks for all the info, if anyone has anything else to say go ahead but now I might just keep my car as it is and keep it, since it was my first 1st car I bought.

yeah dude, everybodys right...we have the exact same car. 97 Gt autos...n/a is just nearly impossible to reach your goals. I have full bolt ons, a SQ trim mongoose kit, and am adding a PI intake, blower cams, and paxton a/a intercooler and am hoping for 380-400 so that gives you an idea...

I would forget about that idea. Just buy a PI motor and get a blower.
You could also get a 4V, port the heads, throw some cams in there and some nitrous on top of that

Honestly I would do a pi swap with a turbo. With a turbo the thing would be mild when you wanted it to be and make good power when it's time. Plus it really wouldn't hurt your gas mileage if you stay out of the boost. If you played your cards right that could be around 5k. Then I would look into supsension. You can have all the power in the world won't matter if you can't hook.

Thanks everyone for taking your time and giving me the heads up on things. Is just something about N/A engines that attracts me, opening the hood and seeing nothing but motor , Maybe later on I'll think about that type of swap, thanks again everyone

If you're set on making power and staying n/a, you might look into buying a nice fox body and upgrading the engine in it. You should be able to get a nice fox body with a 5.0 for somewhere around 2-3k. The 5.0 responds way better to mods and is much cheaper to build than a 4.6. You couldstroke the 5.0 to a347 that would put out some sick hp numbers.
If you're looking for the cheapest route n/a, that would probablybe it.

well..... what about a full built 4v motor? that may cost you about 2k above your goal though but it is possible.... code did 342rwhp in a PI 2v motor... with a 4v, i'd say you can get maybe 380+... also... are you talking about rwhp or crank hp? crank hp... you can do that on a 2v motor... just get the PI heads and get them ported, PI cams (aftermarket), a good intake manifold, full exhuast, a rotating assembly with above 10.0:1 compression... that should get you over 350 crank hp....

Do you have to worry about smog? Most of these options wont pass smog in most states. Slap a blower on it and be done for <5K and still pass smog. I have a freind with a NPI motor and vortech at 12 lbs and sees 365hp/385tq.
