Default Help 99 4.6 2V to 3V conversion

I really want to get the 05-07 3V heads but I don't know if they bolt right on. Will there be some fabrication, ecu change, I have been looking for awhile and can't find any info on it. Any help would be really appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Why would you spend money on swapping to 3v heads. If you got your heart set on the swap, go big and go 4v. But shes gonna be pricey jsut save the money for a blower.

well honestly there is little difference and in fact the 3v's flow just as well as the 4v's do. so thats a good idea. but i dont kno if they would be a direct bolt on, i would think that they would require some work, maybe even new pistons. i dont kno for sure, this is the first i have heard of a 3v swap

3v swap would be cheaper and nearly as rewarding as a 4v swap. Plus you're also only dealing with 2 cams still, which again cuts your costs part and labor wise. Id say in the grand scheme of things you'd spend a few grand less doing a 3v swap as opposed to a 4v one, making either nice NA #'s (seen some 350+rwhp dyno sheets NA) or boosted #'s comparable to 4v equiped cars.

All motor will always be more expensive then a power adder. Unless you're doing the good 'ol cam in the block push rod motor with some big cubes then the two costs may trade off just a bit. But im sure even in that situation a blower would produce more power.

i dont' understand why you would want to do this. there has been people talking about converting 2v's into 4v's and people just bash them and tell them that it would be waay to much work and it's better to just buy a 4v engine and drop it in....why would the 3v conversion be any differnent? i would assume that it would be a wise decision to just drop a 3v engine in rather than converting a 2v into a 3v

dude ur best bet would be to just get a 05+ gt motor, and comp, they are so nice, with a cold air and tune alone u see 30-40 whp thats incredible, and if u did a cam swap and intake with a little port work and a cold air and tune u will be way over 400 whp.

Karkraft.com

Another thing...there isn't an aftermarket intake manifold for the 3v yet is there? I may be mistaken though, but if there isn't then the people already pushing well over 350'ish+ to the wheels have alot more in there to tap.
