All cobras are four valves and as far as I know, the build quality on the cobras should be a little better (the engines are hand assembled), but I think its more of how its taken car of. I have a 97 cobra, and havnt had any real problems since I bought it a year ago.

Didn't the 99s and 01s have some kind of recall? Something that they were notmeeting the advertised hp and torque numbers...

96-98s are a little slower that the 99 and 01s. The 96-98s have a live rear axle compares to the IRS in the 99 and 01s. The 99s did not meet advertised hp and tq numbers, so Ford did a few free modifications (cant really remember what...think it was new intake manifold and some exhaust work) to get back to acceptable numbers.

And was mentions above, 96-98 cobras are sexy, and you dont see too many of them on the roads. Since I bought mine, I have seen only 1 other black cobra and 1 red vert cobra. Ive seen about 10 million 99-04 GTs though .
