Default worn out drag radials...

I came across some Nitto drag radials i'd like to buy last night.... However, they are pretty worn out. The center tread is almost completely gone. The tires are $100 but I think $75 will take them
My question is how does this type of tire hook when its this old. I dont want to buy them and fibers start to show after a pass or two, so i'm just curious how much tire compound is actually there, and does it still hook when worn down. I am only buying these to put on a stock pair of 17s just to take to the track.

I posted this in tire/wheel section but no replys... anyone have any opinions

Drag radials are completely useless when worn that much. Trust me, the nittos let you KNOW when they are done. It goes from the best traction so far (for that particular tire) to absolutly no traction at all.

Dont get them IMO. Save up for some new DRs... When my nittos were bald the only fun they provided was burning them off.
