Default headlight problem....

Ijust traded my stock housings with this guy for his clear ones...but when he took the lights off...the piece that covers the bulb came off. I have tried and tried and i cannot get that little MF'er back on. If anybody has any suggestions on how to get it back on lemme know. More importantly though, would it be bad if i just took them both out completely??
thanks for the help

Im pretty sure you can seperate the black backing piece from the clear lens. Id look on mustangworld.com where they made stock lights into clear corners because i think they had to take the back off. I dont know if it will work but it would definitely make it easier to work on.

yea i thought about that, but im worried about it leaking, and getting condensation in it.

and i really, really, don't want to cut into my light.

honestly, this sounds ridiculous, but it works. we did it to my friends STI to clear the headlights. if you have to, put them in the oven for a few minutes until you can pull the front from the back. Do the same to connect them again. it really works unless our headlights dont have like a glue or substance between them
