ok, so when my engine is cold, between 1900-2200 rpms, i can hear what sounds like my valves clicking. Someone told me I need to adjust them, but how? do I need new springs or should I go ahead and get new ones anyway? Thanks.

 

You can't adjust them. Whoever told you that is dumb. You have hydraulic lifters.

 

He's a 5.0 guy so that could be why -/


Changing oil viscosity (sp?) help this?

 

A thinner oil (or synthetic) would get to the top of the engine quicker. I would guess that it would help, but I'm not 100% sure.

 

im running 10w30 mobil 1 synthetic atm. My change is due, so im thinking of 5w20 or 5w30 synt

 

And whoever told you that is dumb. We have Hydraulic Lash Adjusters..
