Default Car's been wrecked.. What to do?

So heres the deal... My mustang was in an accident a few months ago.. caused $7000 in damage. Never will be the same in my eyes again. Has a carfax now, supposed frame damage.

Should i attempt to sell it.. its a 04 GT 5pd Sonic Blue, Black Leather 42k miles, or just keep it and keep working on the car loan. It tears me apart to put any mod money into it knowing its all messed up now.

The car is most likely worth more to you than it is to someone else buying it. I would just keep it.

+1. You're not goingto get much out of it. I would get it fixed.

keep it and either fix it up or part it out...either way would net you more than trying to sell it

My 98 gt convertible stang was totaled $8000 worth of damage. i bought the car for $7000 i mind you. the insurance gave me $9000 for my car. I bouth it back from the insurance company for$1600. ipaid $800 for frame repair ( ford body shop) and bouth new front end body pannels and good as new. i got aftermarket hood, all dents removed, total paint job, Rims and tires, tint, chin spoiler, anyways it worked out for the best! looks better than i bought it.

If you are going to fix it fix it right. Put it on a frame rack, replace everything that needs it. For the sheetmetal I would use Ford parts not aftermarket. I am sure you could find them in a junk yard used. If you replace everything that needs it and straighten the frame you should have no problems with it.

If you can get rid of it without being upside down and your feelings have soured on the car, I don't see any reason to not get out of it.

Otherwise, if it's been fixed then there isn't much to worry about.Almost every used car has some history you'd wish it didn't have....

O for those that didnt understand.. the cars been fixed already, and i personally think the body shop that my insurance company recomended did the worst job possible. I took it back to them like 4 times to fix stupid things.

And whoever buffs there cars left me with a hood and fenders full of nice swirl marks.

Plus the accident was not really my fault, but the cop blamed me, and the insurance was trying to go 50/50 but it didnt work out and i got fully blamed, which is retarded. I'm 18, my insurance went from 2600 a year to 3200 a year. This is why i have doubts about this car, i loved the car before the accident, but now i just look at it and see one big mistake.

Maby the best idea is just to keep it and say **** what it looks like.. its about how it performs...

You can always fix body work. As long as the car tracks straight, handles correctly...all the little tweaking/repairs are simple. As long as you can't 'feel' the swirls, you can get them out.

It's discouraging. I went through the same thing with my 02 GT when I learned of it's history.
