Hey mustang forums what's up? I just wanted to know if someone wanted to turn a gt engine into a cobra engine what all would u need to do it. The year of the gt is a 96. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

dont, its a long process not worth the effort. let me guess if u worked with cars u have with pushrods motors right? well its not like a simple bolt on, unfortunately u need a whole new intake block machining pistons and and the list will go on. if i were u i would go to a junk yard and find a wrecked lincoln mark VIII with a cobra motor in it, and pull that. its the same thing and parts are the same price. do that and u will be happier in the end.

You would need a complete 96-98 cobra engine, wiring harness, ecu. Trying to convert your engine to DOHC would be a huge headache.

yeah this question has been asked a lot more frequently than usual in the past week.

Just buy a blower that will get you to the cobra power your looking for.
