Sorry I dont follow that logic, headers or gears both improve and without tires dont hook, right? Granted 4:10s will roast your street tires better than some long tubes, I guess I am just saying I left alot of cars behind when I upgraded gears and tires, adding long tubes helped a little.

Most people want to get maximum performance for money invested especially if on a budget one mod at a time

Here you stated that most people want to get maximum performance for money invested ESPICALLY ON A BUDGET. So this is the way I figure.

Gears = $169.00
Master bearing kit = $120.00
Installation of all (in my area) = $550.00
Tires so the gears will grip and do their job (set of Nitto 555R Extreme) = $380.00

TOTAL COST = $1219.00
This work on a budget for only .5 seconds....

Now exhaust...

Headers = $250.00
X pipe = $300.00
Installation = $300.00 (in Austin Tx)

TOTAL COST = 850.00

This leaves $369.00 left for underdrives and a Densecharger CAI. The same set up that allows me to run a 13.5 corrected time. So a stock GT will run Mid 14's, right? This means that my exhaust, pullies, and CAI put me 1.1 seconds over what you just spent on a rearend.

Gears = $169.00
Master bearing kit = $120.00 not needed
Installation of all (in my area) = $550.00 thats a price for the whole deal out the door, most shops are $150-$200
Tires so the gears will grip and do their job (set of Nitto 555R Extreme) = $380.00 mine were $340 installed
Don't forget about your speedo, either a speedcal for $90 or chip for $300
Possibly an alum driveshaft if you get vibration $200+ now

Here they wont insure their work unless you do the master bering kit and the install is $550 for the install of gears, the master kit, fluid and labor. I have asked EVERY shop in town and they are all together on price.

I priced Nitto's here and they are $380.00 installed. I live in a militaary town that LOVES to rip off the soldiers.

Wings... A master bearing kit consists of all the seals for the rear. Master Bearing Installion Kits include carrier & pinion bearings,carrier & pinion shims, ring gear bolts, pinion nut, pinion seal, crush sleeve or shims, marking compound, loctite, & a gasket or silicone

DILO... If you get a set of 4.10's, tires are a must for drag racing. Stock tires will turn over like no tomorrow and the gears wont do what they are intended to do if you can lay down the power.

All the places I have consulted will not warranty the work they do unless the master bearing kit is also installed. Thats just to protect their best intrests which is to not have you coming back with a complaint of a leaky seal or something of the sort.

My 4.10s cost 180 installed with everything... total for gears was around $400.00 including gears, labor, carrier shims and fluid. Didnt need master bearing kit because I only had 150 miles on the car.

Yeah, some places will blow off the kit if you have extremely low miles like yourself. But its pretty much a must if you car has 75,000 miles or more. I couldnt understand why someone would have the rear torn apart for gears and wouldnt wanna replace the whole rear while they're at it.
