Default cobra engine

i have a 98 gt and always wanted to swap a 4v engine into it. but being that they didn't make any automatic cobras, can i put a cobra engine in my car that will bolt up to my automatic tranny?

yea in fact u dont even need to go more than one place to find them both. the lincoln mark VIII was a cobra motor, with a diff intake and cams. and they only came in auto. so go to a junk yard and pulll em both.

but with that motor, if you want to duplicate the Cobra power (if it is the same motor) you will need to spend money on 4v cams... which aren't cheap. You can do an auto swap on a 4v motor.

where you swap the tranny, take out the manual, and swap in an auto... a lot of the fast cobra guys do that. For your specific tranny i dont think you should have any issues. There are tons of guys at Svtperformance, that have done the swap.. may wanna check it out.

Yes the 4V motor will bolt up to your auto trans. But you have to find a8 bolt flywheel for an automatic. I'm not sure what the Mark VIII flywheels are

u might as well upgrade and find some 03 cobra heads with the cams on it, there is a member on this site that has them. that swap will give u a great amount of power and then u will be able to supercharge it.
