If you are looking for a forged long block check out sean hyland. They have a long block for around $4300 plus shipping and tax. Its good for 650 hp. http://www.seanhylandmotorsport.com/...ddb5454521aa9e

I would think now is a good oportunity to upgrade. Work a deal with them, for some money and labor, and you pony up some dough, and you could have a nice forged motor with good ported heads and cams, installed into your car far more cheaply than starting from scratch later on.

Why would you buy another stock motor? It's still going to be slow. Might as well use this as an opportunity to upgrade. Someone up there is looking out for you in a weird way

RE: Blew the motor today!!!!!!!!!
No question. If you dont upgrade, all you are gonna have is a new.....2v. lol. At least get them to throw in a new 4v if they wanna put a ford motor in there. Tell him you'll take it easy on him, and send the block to VT or MMR. bore it out a tad, and put forged stuff in. Probably less expensive than an entire engine from Ford, and heck of alot stronger.
Forget about the stroker. Its useless.

Do shops have insurance for something like that? I mean I know a lot of good guys with private businesses. If you have some ****up minimum wage employee that forgets to put a plug in... you're out 4 grand? Sucks for them; there trying to make a living.

if they didn't have it then they would be risking there whole operation on each and every job.
most small businesses aren't making millions (a lot of people think just because you own a business it means your rich) to cover the cost for a mess up like that.

So if he didn't put the plug in, what happened with the oil?
Did he keep funnel/tank under the car while he filled it, or did the asshat just drain it, drop the car and say here ya go it's ready?

I would double check with the dealer because chances are very high that they will NOT install a NEW long block. It will be a Motorcraft Remanufactured long block. I'd look into going with something better, forged, and the cost should be about the same plus giving you something to build on later if you want to, good luck.
