to cat or not to cat?
that's my million $ question. i keep running pro's and con's in my head but i'm looking for other opinions. i'm getting bassani x pipe and headers but do i go catless? i don't have to worry about inspections since i'm registered in IL. aside from pollution, how much sound/power will i get going catless?
thanks

so 99 you prefer catted but u have an offroad pipe? [&:]
anyways timi if you go Offroad, get an Offroad Hpipe PROCHAMBER....its the power of an Xpipe with the clean deep muscle sound....you'll like it

catless will definitely be louder, but with your setup, that may not be what you want. If you had chambered mufflers, Id definitely say go catless, but you might want to go with converters...

RE: to cat or not to cat?
Just depends on what kind of sound you are looking for, and how much noise you are willing to tolerate...
The o/r X and stingers is going to be LOUUDD as HELL, with a lot of drone. My brother has LTs, o/r X. and LM1's. Stingers won't be AS loud, but are not far behind at all. My brother's setup sounds aggressive as hell, but like I said, there is quite a bit of drone, its pretty raspy at higher rpms, and HOLY CRAP anyone in a 2 mile radius can hear you coming.
But I don't think it sounds "bad", I love it and so does he. Catted midpipe will just take the "rasp" out of it, or the crackling if you will. All depends on the sound you are going for.

The horsepower difference is almost non exsistant. The catted version will not be as loud.
The real difference is the price. If you have emissions check in your area its a real PITA with the non catted pipe though, as it will NOT pass.
