You can jack your rear up and turn the tire 2 complete turns while watching your driveshaft and counting how many times the driveshaft turns. 3 3/4 turns on the driveshaft should be 3.73, 3 1/2 turns = 3.55, a bit over 4 turns = 4.10.....well you get the picture. If Im wrong, correct me please...

Yes, but for 2 turns of the wheel it should be double what you said. Cause it is 3.73:1 which means 3.73 turns on the drive shaft equals 1 on the tires.

You need to do one or the other not both! i just read up and talked to a rep about it. Just stick the 23 tooth white gear in there and call it a day. Or put one in for another gear ratio and enter the code! Doesn't matter what gear you put in as long as you adjust the code for it.

The 23 tooth reads a faster speed than i am actually going. The 23 was in the car when i got it, but it was all torn up. I replaced it, but the speed was still off and a week later the gear already showed signs of wear. The 23s are crap. At any rate with the tremec t-45 i should only need a 21 tooth. That is what is in there now, but the speedo is still off. So any thoughts? Is is possible for the electrical sender is messed up?

Why is the white 23 tooth bad? Why does it get all torn up vs. other gears? Isn't the stock a plastic peice as well? I'm not sure why you are having trouble, but ya think you can help me with mine???...lol

the problem with the 23 is that its gears are thinner plastic and just don't hold up. I was talking to a guy who only works on speedos and techs in his shop and this is what he said and I have noticed. This is why it is much better to use the speed-cal. Plus if you change something else later down the road you don't have to locate another speedo gear, u can just look up the new code that you need.
