Default T-45 Transmission Problem

So today me and my buddy were taking my car for a test drive after installing my strut tower brace, and I was gettin on it and let out the clutch too fast going into 4th, naturally it grined pretty good and I let off. When I was driving back I went to put it in 4th again and after I placed the shifter in 4th, I took my hand off it and let out the clutch. It poped right back into neutral all by itself. I then noticed I had to hold the transmission in 4th while going into it. Everything else works perfect and it goes into 4th and runs in it smoothly, but unless I hold the shifter in 4th while letting out the clutch it will pop back in N. Any idea what I jacked up?

Sounds like a syncro or a bent fork.

Could be a bent fork, but ehh...

You could have stripped the synchro's just enough so it'll pop out of gear, but not grind while in gear.

How much does it cost to fix a synchro or a bent fork?

You can fix one synchro, but if there is a grinding gear, odds are you have metal shavings or pieces floating around in your transmission.

If you are going to as far as pulling your transmission, the only way to the repair properly is to replace all synchros. A T-45 rebuild should be around 1,500 complete.
