Default No traction!!!

I'm thinking about getting some 4.10 gears but even without those i don't have much traction. I'm afraid if i get them i won't be able to enjoy them as much because ofmy traction, or the lack there of. Basically the thing i'm having most trouble with is the shift from 1st to 2nd (shift kit). Damn tires won't grab for crap!!! My tires have about 50% tread left but they really suck and i know this. So besides getting some new tires what can i do to getmy 1st to 2nd shift hook up better? Keep in mind, i'm definitely getting some 4.10's in the near future so what should i do before that?

Your car only has maybe an additional 20-30 hp over stock with your listed mods. I don't understand why you are at such a loss for traction. What gears do you have now, stock? What kinda of tires are on the car now? They must be totally crapped out

Aren't the 373 gears recomended for a manual car? I heard the 4.10's didn't work as well, but then agian I do not know a whole lot about gears.

Yeah, i've got stock, least that's what i think. When i bought the car it was all stock so i'm assuming that the gears are too. I've got hankook tires. Oh and it's an automatic btw.

I've been having the same problems man (02 Auto), and I am hoping to get my 4.10's installed soon too. I know that I won't be able to drive the car as-is when the temp is below freezing, whether it is wet/icy or not. I put the car sideways in the (Dry) road the other day because I forgot how cold it was[]

My plan is better tires (My current tires are good SUMMER street tires), control arms and subframe connectors, at least when the funds are available.

you cant just floor it from the get go. not that easy without some suspension work. get a feel for it. mine is a 5 spd and i take it somewhat easy up to about 3000 rpm then give it a little more until its time to shift into second. then its ***** to the wall.
