RE: Shifter??
Your transmission is a TR3650. Tremec is the make and 3650 is the model number of tranny. A short throw shifter does just what it says... it shortens the throw between shifts using a high ratio pivot instead of the crappy stoch shifter. I dont know if you powershift a lot but if you have ever missed third gear and hate life for a week because you lost a race then get a Pro5.0 and third will be EASY. I have the Pro5.0 and I love it. I hear good things about the Steeda but it isnt as short as the Pro5.0.
Steeda is popular for the spring loaded shift into third. It directs the shifter for you so you can palm slam it into gear.

best shifter is whichever you want and or find cheaper. you just have to feel one to understand it. the 1-2 throw is like the distance between first and neutral on the stock shifter. and you know how when you put the shifter in neutral it can sit between first and second or between third and fourth, well it has springs that make it go right under third so when you take it out of second, it "finds" third for you.

and its much stiffer, and more notchy and you hear more tranny noise... but if you've ever driven a car with a Pro5.0 or Steeda shifter then you'd want one. I've got a Steeda, but both are fine and yea the Steeda is a tad taller.

Not really. As MD pointed out, the gear changes are alittle more notchy and stiffer all around so you have a better feel but I don't have any problems with going into neutral. Like others said coming out of 2nd it springs into neutral ready for third (the steeda atleast) for the better 2-3 shifts.
