Default 01 Cobra Vs. 03,04 Cobra!

Hey Guys, I was thinking of purchasing an 01 Mustang Cobra low mileage and getting a supercharger if I do go with a supercharger I was thinking Vortech or Pro Charger any suggestions? And if I was to Supercharge this low mileage cobra would it be faster than the 03,04 Cobras if i was running a safe pound of boost? Or should I scrap it and just sugercharge my 01 Mustang GT 54k that is already lightly modded?

Depends on how much you plan on spending for the 01' Cobra. The negative about that, is the fact that you're still handicapped with the engine internals. Yes, a supercharged 01' Cobra will be faster then a stock 03/04, but pulley, intake and tune, and you're even, and you also have moe space to grow with the terminator due to the forged motor. Also, you still have to deal with the tremec 3650, which isn't the best tranny in the world.

Figure, 5-6k to supercharge the car (with a good s/c) in most cases, there are a few gusy on here with blown 01's.. ask them. But, if you can buy the Terminator, I would get it - just because of the forged motor and the 6spd. Now, if you're aspirations are only 400-450rwhp then you'll be fine with the 01.

Again, as far as your current car goes - what are your aspirations.. remember, for your car your going to need: clutch, s/c and cooling mods.. not to mention your tranny, and rear end won't like 400+rwhp... and if you want to really go over 400-450rwhp, you'll need a new forged block. If your car is already paid off, you could always get built shortblock, and build it up that way with a beefed up 8.8 and a TKO tranny... build a warrior.

+1, on 03-04 Cobra since the motor is already forged.

No point in upgrading to a Pre-03/04 Cobra if you plan on buying a supercharger.

The internals only last to 450rwhp, same limitations as a 2v GT.
