The block itself is plenty strong, can handle probably anything your budget can throw at it.

However your rotating assembly is no good past 450RWHP & even that is pushing it to it's limits.

You wont get 500 with that on a safe tune, 450 tops

Better off getting a new block
If I was you I would definintely not get a new block. You have the most capable production 4.6 block made. I would put together a rotating assembly and take it to a machine shop to get installed and balanced.

i dont wanna ditch the block. some one give me a list of wat i need to do to the block to get 500whp, but if i just do a tune for 450 will the motor take it?

if i can get 450whp safley with just bolt ons and a blower ill be really really happy....and this is with stock internals btw...

way off, this is the dohc block not he sohc, this block can hold upwards of 1500 hp stock, u def dont have the money to do that, so why would u ditch it, pro drag racers use this block.

nahh ur gonna need a forged block. u can get to 500 whp but u need to crank up that boost

You'll end up with a better engine in the long run and I don't see it cost any more money to stick with it. Unless you have some guy that wants to give you big money for the block I'd use it.
