Default Air silencer removal... Side effects?

So im bored and i read codes thread on how to remove this. Before i go do this is there any bad things that could come from this? I would think that Ford put it there for a reason? Will this do anything noticeable? Free mod woot.

I just removed mine a few days ago, you notice an increase in the throttle response, about it. Nice for a free mod, though

I can honestly say that I've never had a Stang that had the silencer still in when i bought it so that part I can't answer but I do know it's one of the first mods we do when we take them home.
There isn't any negative side effects that I can think of, andwould suggest after removing the silencer to drop in a high flow filter.

The silencer is there for a reason, to silence the incoming air. Removing it just makes the engine bay louder if you consider that a side effect.

Just removed mine like 3 hours ago. Also did that gas pedal mod. Love the throttle responce and both free mods took me a total of 20 mins and that includes going to the hardware store to get a plastic tube and hose clamps. I suggest everyone do it (the gas pedal mod that is).
