Default MSD ignition

Someone told me that i should put msd ignitionon my car today. They didn't really explain a whole lot aboutwhat it was and what it did. Can anyone tell me what this is? Supposedly it'll give me some HP and i'm always interested in that.

Its good for heavilly modded engines that need extra ignition power.. Our stock ignitions are just fine for us.
