hey what's up I just got another mustang black on black GT 5 speed 27k miles (To add to my collection) now here's some pics



This is at the dealer right before I took it with me. Now while i was driving it on the highway I noticed (Think) the speedo is way off said i was doing 90 at 2000 in 5th but it seemed like i was going 65 70 tops. and around the streets I was doing 50 55 and felt like 35 40. now I don't know about any gear changes that have been made to this car (Dought it ) is there anyway of knowing without using another car next to you or taking the cover off the rear and counting?

i am guessing u need to get ur car recalibrated.......or the new edge is just that fast!

 

naw I dought it. my 06 should be fast, I hope it's still got factory warranty so I'll probly go there after i drive it next to someone i know.

You should be turning around 2300 rpm at 90 in 5th. The feeling you're getting that make you feel like you're going slower is an illusion. I can drive my crown vic at 90 or my buddy's 06 gt at 90 and it feels like 90. But I can drive my 04 GT and feel like I'm going slower than 90. I don't know what it is? Your speedo still sounds like it's off a little bit tho.

about the spedo, does it have aftermarket rear end gears?

 

that's the thing I'm not sure and i don't feel like taking off the cover and turning and counting the teeth then doing the math (I'm Lazy) and i bought it at a stealership so they don't know.

 

Just mark the driveshaft and turn the wheels over once. Then see how many times the driveshaft turns. more than 3.27 revolutions, then you got aftermarkets.

Or you could just get someone to drive beside you and check.

 

probably have some 3.73's or 4.10's and the guy took back his programmer to sell it but couldnt take the gears back out..
