Default Mass Air Meter RIPOFFS

Hey all. This will probably spark some debate, but I feel it is worth mentioning. I purchased a C&L Mass Air System. I can't really say I could feel any horsepower gains, but it did cause the car to buck a little.....here and there, and on hot days (i live in FL), the car was weak. I have since replaced the system with the stock box AND air silencer....that's right, I put the air silencer back on....why? Read Kenne Bell's faq's at www.kennebell.net and you will understand.Specific question is under the "bogus mods sect" I'm not ad'ing for him....I don't even have any of his products, but a filter sitting in your engine, collecting all of that heat CANNOT produce more horsies. That air silencer is grabbing air from the fender well, when you remove it....you are grabbing more hot air from the motor. A bigger mass air housing, WITHOUT a chip, is a joke....think about it people, and don't get ripped off, like me......If any of you have dyno data to prove me wrong....i would love to see it! Ted

I have the 76MM C&L and my car would occasionally buck, but that problem has ceased since the install of my new intake manifold. What ever you choose to do good luck

a larger mass air with stock tb equals no gain.. when you order your maf, they will make adjustments for injector size, tb size... but still you are only going to get maybe 10-15 hp with a maf, tb, and injectors... quicker throttle responce is what i noticed most..

pro m 80 maf, 70 ford racing tb, 30 lbs injectors.

is what i have... i have the new intake manifold for my 98 gt and had it ported.. i am quite satisfied.. i live in new orleans ..can't get any hotter or more hummid than here

Or just get a densecharger. Its a rubber CAI and is proven to have the most gains out of all CAIs. I personally think its worth the 2 hp loss for the looks of the aluminum CAIs. My 2 cents
