Default please advise, about to buy first stang!

I am looking at 99-00 to 01-04 convertible 5pd GTs

What are the differences?

i know that the trans got upgraded and the headlamps, spoiler, hood and side scoops are different.

what about the inside? from pics it it looks like 99-00 have a cassette and cd decks separate = 2 stereos?

also is there an trac off button on 99-00s? if so where is it?

are the diff/gear ratios different?

Are the 01-04s much better?
would you advise me to try and find and 01-04 over an 99-00?

i would advise u to look for a coupe rather than a convertible, and also really i would say look for an 01-04 not because theres alot of differences, but because youll find lower miles. annnnddd the 04 is the 45th anniversary and u get the cool circular badge on the side and more people think u have a v6. . hhehe. Hope that helped, good luck.

I recommend autotrader.com

Thanks but I really wanta convertible not a coupe.
The 99 was 35th aniversary so 04 must be 40th.

Also most 01- 04s in my price range have more miles than 99-00s
and why would i want people to think i was driving a V6 car
worth half as much as a GT?

Get the newest one you can afford.
These cars get beat on pretty bad.

I was trying to get a response to the "buy the newest you can afford" coment. What is new? low mileage or when it was made? If there arent any benifits of owning a 2001+ model then for the same spec, condition and cash i would rather buy a 99 or 00 with only 70'000 miles.

But I still dont know of the differences, pros or cons! someone please help!
