weird Problem with traction control??
Hi,
I own a 99 Mustang GT. It has ABS and traction control and lately I have trouble in the first and second gear when my rpm goes above 3000. Sometimes the check engine light turns on, at other times, it seems the tires turn(even though the steering wheel is straight) and sometimes both happens. Does anyone has any idea as to what could be the problem? This doesnt happen below 3000 rpm.
I hope I am communicating my trouble well enough.
Thanks!

Slow down ?
Just kidding. Are you accelerating HARD when this is happening? If so that could be the problem. You might want to turn off the traction control. If not, then someone more advanced than me might have to figure it out for you.

have u tried going over 3000 rpms in 3rd or 4th and the cel still come on? Have you experienced similar problems when the traction control is on/off (is traction control part of the problem)? Is there a time when its most prevelent (rain, just starting the car up, hard acceleration). Being able to narrow down when the problem occurs would help us a bit
I did try going above 3000 rpm in the 3rd and 4th, nothing happened. Nor in the fifth. But I did not turn much in 3rd and 4th gears. Also, it happened consistently when it was raining and only happens intermittently otherwise. I never tried with the traction control off, I guess I will today and post what happens next.
No, I dont get a noise. Just for a split second the tires seem to be going off road, and then it seems like they are back on track. Its as if I'm losing control of the steering for a split second. No noise nothing. And the check engine light glows sometimes.
