Maybe it'shappening now because your tires aren't gripping as strong anymore. Personally, I don't accelerate hard with the traction Control on. Actually I never drive with it on either. If you can afford to turn it off and drive with it off (assuming so if you're accelerating that hard) then leave it off. Hard acceleration in a mustang kind of defeats the purpose of Traction control.

i have a 99 gt also and i have a similar problem, i had put 92 octane gas in and it started hesitating a bit under hard acceleration above 3000rpm so i figured it was the higher octane doing it but on the way home today i took traction control off their wasno hesitation at all, so im now guessing it isa tration control issue but im not 100%, did the 1999's have problems with the trac. control or something?

wait... it CANT be this simple

Your traction control is kicking in because your tires are slipping..... and your car is retarted for a few seccond to keep you from loosing control. After a few secconds the green "tire" goes off and you continue to accelerate

what you are describing IS traction control. If you turn it off, you should not have that problem....

If I'm not careful my traction control kicks in every once in a while. The light is a green wheel, not the check engine. I have never had it affect the front wheels or create a steering problem. I think you may have something different happening.

sounds like a spark/fuel/air issue. start with the air and fuel filter.. check the plugs and packs.. the hesitation is most likely a misfire or detonation. have you heard any deep pop noises from your hood? let your car idle and listen for anything that sounds weird (pop, metallic ping, thump, etc.)

theres no hesitation with the trac. control off, so thats why im leaning towards a problem with that
