Default clutch / shifter question

one thing I absolutely hate about my car is the shifting...it takes so long to shift from one gear to the next (manual transmission), it's almost like a 2 step process in shifting, to neutral then to the gear....a lot of the times when I'm trying to get on it and run through the gears I grind the hell out of them, as my feet are faster with the pedals than my hands will ever be with the stock shifter

I take it I'm needing a short throw shifter? will this be the answer I've been looking for? any recommendations? I don't have a fortune to spend. Is this something I can change out myself or is it pretty complicated?

thanks in advance!!

ahahha. I've had my mgw for almost 2 years now and I can believe that the stock shifter was that long...

I have a trix-ax, but they way you guys talk about the MGW on this forum, makes me want to drive a stang that has one really bad, so I can see the difference.
