GT500s have much more potential. yea ok, they weigh in close to 4000 pounds. They do however have a solid rear and a 5.4 mod motor. there is no replacement for displacement! give it some time like we did for the 03 04's...hell they came out more than 4 years ago!

Ladies and Gentleman... we have a magazine racer!!!

Stop reading magazines. The Shelby is a solid 12 second car, its a step quicker then a stock Terminator. Case closed.

Also, realize the 60" was a 2.3, lol... if you take a 2.0 60" you're looking at a mid 12... which is where most drivers will drive it.
I just had to refer to MM&FF to prove that the GT 500 has a lot more than 13's in it if driven to its potential. I dont live by magazine times if thats what your implying, its all about the individual driver.

sorry never got a chance to drive it and all that i'm saying is that i'm not impressed. Replacement for displacement=weight (ex. lotus)

I am amazed that the shelby's 60' is only 2.3 sec......I got an honest 2.044 with my near stock 01 gt 2v...ant explanation on why the 500 hp shelby is not better than my 2v in the 60'....(I know it will get me by the finish line but why not the 60'.....weight maybe?)

Orange.. I was dissapointed too, I wanted them to make a run @ the Z06, but your facts are wrong. I would say a car capable of a low 12 for 42k MSRP, is pretty good, lol... you find one other car that does that for me. Just like you couldn't really find a car for 32k that runs like the Terminator does stock.

Driver error. Actually the more power the car has, with regular tires the harder to launch it, it is.

Every dealer (including mine) who has one on the floor (Shelby) is asking around $65K for one, and it weighs in at 3900lbs, yes it is a tank. But a very nice straight-linetank. OK, $65-67K for the Shelby. Z06's weigh in under 3000lbs, are full aluminum perimeter framed, have a kick-*** fully independant suspension, are NA and similar HP, and my dealer was selling his at sticker, $71K. Sounds to me like a no-brainer! I've been hard-core Ford for 33 years, but the 'Vette is a point of contention with me, why couldn't have Ford made the GT in the $50K range like the Corvette, I want a true sports car, light weight powerful, low slung, and sexy. And whst pisses me off is Ford is more than capable of building such a car, but doesn't. I love my Mustang, but I want a complete package, not just a burner for "PINKS"! I won't take a Shelby over a Z06, in fact if I won a Shelby I'd sell it to put towards a Z06. I did buy a charity ticket for one, for $200. If you see me post one for sale, you know I hit it!
