First impressions after suspension install

RE: First impressions after suspesion install
ok...last question. I know nothing about suspensions but is it necessary to swap the springs out when you do that. I just wanna change shock/struts but i wanna keep stock springs for right now. Ill just have to live with the 4x4 for a while until I decide what i want to do spring wise

Did you get ur control arms from Blue Oval and what brand, and whats so special about the 4cyl fox shocks
The fox springs also lower the car about 3/4 of an inch.

yeah I loved when I did the control arms... my buddy just put on the strange adjusttables on his car... with the control arms...
Glad to hear you like it 2000... I know what you mean about losing just because you spun its frustrating as hell!!!
How do you like the Nittos?
EDIT: +1 on the control arms being a PIA - haha... and i forgot to grease the bushings - it squeaked going over hard speed humps, so annoying.

The nittos are ok for now, but I really would like something more stickey. At this point though, I really don't want to detonate the 8.8, and I am afraid a BFG or MT would destroy the rearend on a hard launch. The nittos provide a bit of a saftey valve.

I tried using that stupid *** spring compressor from parts america, but it just didn't work worth a heck. In the end, the prybar and some elbow grease seemed alot easier (on the front and back).
I think I am gonna look around for a solution for the rear springs, I was gonna cut it but there isn't a traditional "dead" spring coil ike I was thinking.,

Sounds like alot fun.... and alot of work. But I like to drag here at Race wars and I especially love running out at Nurburgring, but I am always a little hesitant to push it on the 'ring because of body roll and the butt slipping out from under me.

RE: First impressions after suspesion install
really, the only thing that made it take awhile was never having done it before and doing the control arm install.
I bet I could do the entire thing over again in less than 5-6 hours (front and back) now that I know exactly what to do.
So far as the body roll, you should just try installing some shocks/struts (adustable ones) and some front and rear swaybars. These are both very very easy installs, and it willmakea huge difference in body roll.
On the shocks struts, all you need is a socket set, wrench set, and some sort of 90 degree impact. After unmounting the tires, its probably only a hour job if that.
