It may reduce noise (though I don't see how it would to any significant degree), however its primary function is to keep dirt, grime, and crap out of your $180 shifter--think about it... The OEM boot can be stretched out and reused, but MGW's $8 boot fits like a glove (a non-OJ glove) and when you modify the OEM upper boot to wrap around it seals things up 100%.Buy it!

Yea, I bought the dust boot. It took 30 minutes to get the little piece to fit into it though!

I am still in the market for one... I am still hoping I will find one on eBay, all the mod money for my car come from selling stickers and stuff on eBay so all that money is tied up in PayPal, MGW doesnt accept PayPal.

MGW comes with very detailed good instructions for install, with the fluid once you get the shifter off just drain the fluid from the bottom and pour it in the top through the open hole. make sure the drain plug is back on first. here is some links on mgw shifter installs, one of them includes transmision fluid.

My factory boot is a little torn so I ordered the MGW boot. Hopefully it will make a slight difference in SOMETHING.
