WTF?
Hmm I have a friend that has a z28..anyways he said he ran a 12.3 and then hooked up a toggle switch to his alternator and was runing a 12.2..I've seen his slips and whatnot..the runs were consistant both before and after. He said that he would cut off the alternator before a run then switch it back on afterwards. He said it frees up lost horsepower the alternator is draining from the engine..Anyone heard of this before?

RE: WTF?
Never heard of it. I can't see how it would work, its not like the pulley was removed. You'd start to get a weak spark shortly after I would think.
My winter beater is a maxima, the serpentine belt that runs the alternator slips. There is a definite loss in performance when it slips.

that makes no sense to me, even if you cut the output from the alt. it's still being spun by the engine and creating drag, so i don't see how that can be
