Is there a any difference in power between a 2004 gt and a 2001 gt. I like the body style with the hood scoop better than the 99-00 without it.

No, not really. pre 99 4.6 modular motors have a head/intake combo thats they call non pi. the 99 and above have pi (performance improved) that flow a lot better and make more power a lot more easier. so a lot of pre 99 stang guys will swap them out so hence the pi head swap.
